A recording of the BBC’s Question Time was interrupted on Thursday as the news that Prince Andrew would be stripped of his ‘prince’ title broke.
As presenter Fiona Bruce announced the news, the audience in Bradford applauded. The show then did an unplanned segment on Andrew.
Reacting to the news on the programme, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said: “As an initial response, I really support the step that [King Charles has] taken.”
It comes after Andrew’s links to Jeffrey Epstein came under the spotlight and pressure had mounted on the Royal Family. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
